Unite by Light & Simsbury Unity Mile - A Simsbury Town-wide Luminary Event by For All Ages
Residents are invited to participate in Unite by Light 2021, a fully inclusive luminary event in Simsbury that unites the entire community for a single night of connection and joy. This luminary event will once again feature the Simsbury Unity Mile - a mile of luminaries that will set Hopmeadow St. aglow by candlelight with the spirit of friendship, unity, and community!
This year, we are inviting residents to purchase one or more single luminaries and decorate their bag(s) in celebration of the holiday season, a special event in their life, or in memory of a loved one. And each purchase will sponsor a luminary bag for a Simsbury older adult resident. THESE are the bags that will line Hopmeadow St. (For All Ages will distribute and collect older adult sponsored bags.)
Will you be able to find YOUR luminary along the Simsbury Unity Mile?
Purchase your luminary on-line, at our booth at SeptemberFEAST, or at one of our tables outside of Fitzgerald's Foods in October and November. Decorate your bag at the time of your purchase OR drop off your decorated luminary bag at the Simsbury Public Library beginning in mid-September or during one of our sales times in front of Fitzgerald's.
We need many volunteers to bring this magic to life! Visit our Unite by Light page for volunteer opportunities and to sign up.
Businesses, families, and other organizations are invited to sponsor the Simsbury Unity Mile. Each sponsor will be recognized with a sign along the Mile. All funds raised support the cost of the Simsbury Unity Mile and fund our intergenerational programs in Simsbury and neighboring communities. Simsbury residents are invited to participate in Unite by Light 2021 by purchasing a luminary for only $20. Each luminary sponsors a free luminary for a Simsbury older adult resident.
