Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and personable Part-Time Maintenance Person to support the daily operations of our independent senior living community in Simsbury. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on maintenance skills who enjoys working in a respectful, service-oriented environment with older adults. Flexible hours are available.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general property maintenance to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained community
- Handle minor interior and exterior repairs and troubleshooting (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.)
- Painting and basic refurbishing of common areas
- Landscaping and grounds maintenance as needed
- Maintain equipment
- Snow removal during winter months (availability required during storms)
- Interact professionally and courteously with residents, staff, and visitors
- Assist with resident functions as needed
- Previous maintenance or facilities experience preferred (experience a plus)
- Comfortable and respectful interacting with a senior community
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license required with clean driving record - Passenger endorsement for a service bus is a plus
- Must be available for snow removal when needed
- Background check and references required
- Flexible part-time hours
- Schedule may vary based on community needs and seasonal requirements
- Compensation based on experience and qualifications
